ABOUT PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Rural tourism plays a vital role in the tourism sector. Rural tourism is a type of alternative tourism that occurs increasingly visit rural settlements and relaxation in natural environments and accommodations in these areas with different cultures away from cities of noise, crowd and air pollution. Rural tourism can be defined as ensuring fairness in the distribution of income of people living in rural areas, using natural resources with responsibility and the process of reflection of wealth on the lives of individuals in rural areas. The European Union (EU) created the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance- IPA for the purpose of giving support to candidate countries, within the framework of Council Regulation No. 1085/2006. IP Support consists of five components.
There are restoration works carried out for the re-use and renewal of old buildings in rural areas. Thanks to the restorations, cultural assets in rural areas emerge and become touristic products. However, not every restoration work is done for nature, environment and cultural structure. In this project, research studies and restoration works in rural tourism regions will be examined. This project is to increase the professional competence needed by tourism and landscape architecture and try to develop new models and strategies.

OBJECTIVES

The aim of our project is to identify the implementation problems that arise as a result of the restoration and tourism activities of the cultural heritage items in rural areas, to create a common strategy by bringing together our students and local administrations who are policymakers, to develop more applicable, sustainable and accessible models and to create a strategy for restoration practices in rural tourism destinations. . Within the scope of the project, three titles were determined to examine the cultural elements in rural areas. These topics are tourism, landscape and architecture.
